When entering, you can literally feel the unique ambient climate in our ecological Baufritz houses. A sophisticated health concept is behind this, which is concerned with the widest range of sectors of building biology and ecology that you can imagine.
In-house test for harmful substances:
A part of it is the test for harmful substances of all used materials. There is no building material used at Baufritz that has not first passed the strict tests and high demands of our trained building biologists: For this, samples of any potentially new material are taken (e.g. colours and floor coverings), and tested with regard to the emissions behaviour in an in-house test chamber with the "Baufritz good nose", a so-called photo ionisation detector (PID). In the course of the last 1.5 years, we have carried out more than 150 product analyses and created as many emissions evaluations. This way, we can ensure that only safe and health contractual materials are included in our product.
Wood preservative screening:
Also in 2012, wood preservatives are unfortunately still often used on the market. At the moment, there are around 1,200 approved variations of them in Europe. For many years, we have consistently refrained from using wood preservatives such as dichlofluanid. In order to ensure that in fact only woods that were not exposed to wood preservatives are used, we carry out a wood preservative screening once a month. For this, we take a sample of all the woods in the warehouse - which means strands, construction timber, glued laminated timber, etc. These samples are then sent to an independent laboratory for testing. A short time later, we have a detailed test report.
Ambient air measurement:
In order to give you proof of the good air quality in your home, we conduct an active ambient air measurement, including a formaldehyde measurement by default, after you moved to your new home. For this, the air in a relevant area (for example the bedroom) is tested by trained staff for approximately 250 different substances from the area of the VOCs. In the past seven years, we have carried out more than 900 ambient air measurements. Documented in a statistical program, this is a valuable wealth of experience. Meanwhile, we can even learn from the results whether for example someone smoked on the construction site (on our construction sites there is a strict no-smoking policy!) or whether a chainsaw was used. You will receive the results of the measurement prepared in a health certificate, which confirms the good indoor air quality in your house to you in black and white.
All these measures are completely voluntary and not standard on the market! This free added value gives you proof for the known high Baufritz quality demand and the healthy ambient climate in the houses.
