"This modern architect-designed house is impressive not only because of its striking architecture and the almost rustic shingle façade. It also excels with its expansive sense of space, which is underlined by generous glass fronts. We have created a smooth transition from the interior design of this house to the surrounding nature. Likewise, the floor layout is flowing: two steps lead from the living area, which is separated by a cosy fireplace, to the open dining area and kitchen. In the top floor is the spa with its own sauna and direct access to a loggia, which is protected from view. "

modern House Bullinger

A designer house in modern wooden architecture

This modern designer house stands out not only because of its distinctive shape, but also on account of the alpine shingle façade upstairs. It was a matter of making the best use of the land. An exceptional building has been erected which resembles the plot in its shape and harmoniously combines all the wishes and needs of the Bullinger family.

Architectural Design

Upon first seeing the house the vertically offset pent roof and large glass surfaces catch the eye. The optimal utilization of the relatively square plot through great planning skill makes this designer house an architectural feat. Despite the alpine and rather unusual shingle façade the property nestles perfectly into its street environment. Numerous clever details create a feeling of spaciousness. One can,  for example, access the ground floor of the house not only through the covered entrance area but optionally via the underground car park with two parking spaces.
On the ground floor, past the entrance area, the cosy living and dining room can be found. The two rooms are separated by a beautiful wood burning stove. Opposite the dining room is a white, functional kitchen with a practical small dining table corner. Next to it there is a pantry and a room which can be used as a working area or guest room. A large wooden deck, which occupies the entire width of the house on the garden side, creates a wonderful relaxing space for warm summer days.
On the top floor, garden side, are the master bedroom with adjoining dressing room and floor to gable glazing; a large roof terrace and an atrium are on the other side. The adjoining bathroom is inspiring thanks to the beautiful Baufritz sauna. Three further, children's rooms sit side-by-side, with a small children's bathroom rounding off the space.

Built healthily – naturally!

The natural indoor climate is a significant advantage of the complete-solution organic construction by Baufritz. It nurtures the well-being of all the inhabitants of the modern house. Foremost amongst its features is the use of only natural materials, strictly tested for harmful substances, which contributes to this particular feeling of well-being had by all. The majority of these natural materials can be returned into the natural cycle at the end of their service life (i.e. over 100 years)! All other materials are reused in the recycling process.
From an energy perspective, the house has been carefully planned and includes a pellet-fired boiler and a complete-solution ventilation system with heat recovery.
Good for protecting the climate , good for reducing C02 , good for humans!
