Cliff House

This house is set in a magnificent position with sweeping views of the Alps and the valley below. Hugging the cliff face, it has floor-to-ceiling windows on three levels that take in the spectacular scenery. Wrap-around terraces provide additional living space in the summer. In designing the house, materials were chosen that blend in with the surroundings, such as terracotta-coloured render and natural timber cladding.

"Nature meets design: Its exposed hillside location and floating architecture without any visible supports make this spectacular modern house so special. Perched high above the village, the property nestles against the steep rocky slope. A special crane was required to transport the prefabricated components up to the building site over the roofs of the neighbouring houses. The modern architecture blends in with the natural surroundings thanks to the use of clean shapes and simple materials."
